People’s staff shone in their store’s Be A Star Campaign for ALS

For the month of June the local People’s Drug Mart store held a fundraiser for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease) by selling stars in a chain-wide Be A Star campaign. “We advertised via radio and posters on our doors, as well we had a table set … to honor Marcel Calay, a gentleman who had recently passed from this terrible disease,” said People’s Merchandising Manager Jodie Graham. “I challenged the staff to exceed last year and they did.” Local staff — Jodie Graham (left), Brenda Unru, Alex Tompkins, Patty Swenson, Tanya Young and Brenda Armillotta — raised $1,760 and happily posed for a photo with the stars they collected and a photo of the late Marcel Calay.
