After a couple of hours on the hunt for that hole-in-one or sub-par score there is no better way to end your morning than sitting down to lunch at the Revelstoke Golf Club’s Last Tee restaurant.

“Our food is very simple, very good and high quality,” says manager Emma Kirkland.

“We also have the best patio in town and children are welcome.”

Kirkland and former Powder Springs Chef Victoria Leeson have put together a delicious-looking menu of breakfast, luncheon and light dinner fare and have plans that include organic herbs and vegetables later this summer.

“Victoria is growing 1,000 seedlings in a garden plot here at the club,” Emma said.

The Last Tee opens Monday through Friday with Continental breakfasts on offer from 8 am until 11 am and traditional Canadian breakfasts of eggs, sausages, ham or bacon with hash browns and toast on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 am until it closes. Appetizers include a variety of wings, yam fries, normal fries and rice rolls. Soups, salads, falafel, burgers, steak sandwiches, club sandwiches, beef-dip sandwiches, beer-battered fish and chips and home-made lasagna round out the adult menu. The children’s menu includes linguini with butter and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken nuggets with fries.

Of course, there is bar service — this is a golf course, after all — and well-iced popular Mount Begbie Brewing Company products such as Kolsch, Atilla The Honey and Tall Timber  are available on tap. You can also order Bud, Canadian, Kootenay, Kokanee, Canadian 67, Heineken, Keith’s IPA, MGD and Corona. Gatorade and a variety of soft drinks are also on tap. Canned beers include Pilsner, Coors Light, Canadian, Bud, Bud Light, Heineken, Kolsch, Tall Timer, Kokanee and Pilsener Tall Can. If you like coolers you can order Palm Bay, Smirnoff Ice and Bacardi Breezer. Vodka, gin and scotch are also available as are decent house red and white wines.

The Last Tee is also offering a couple of cool promotions for those who enjoy whacking little white balls. Grip It and Sip It offers couples and individuals two beers, delicious appies, three holes and a chance to hit a bucket of balls every Friday afternoon after 5. Then there’s the Rainy Day Beer promotion. This one’s dead simple and you don’t even have to hit a single golf ball: If it’s raining at 11 sm jugs of Kolsch are just $12 all day.
